One more Chuggington update

 During my time on Chuggington as an animation director, I was also given the opportunity to do some design work for the show. In the Badge Quest Share the Load, that is now available on BBC iPlayer, the trainees have to put up posters for Action Chugger's new movie "Light-year Chugger"

The first post for 2012

Happy New Year everyone! It's been almost two years now since I finished my film Laika and I've decided that it is time to make another short film so that is my New Year's Resolution.

I've started writing the script and developing visuals for an animated musical set in the English Countryside

I had forgotten how difficult and draining the "creative" process can be, especially the writing...

The project has already attracted some attention as it has been selected for the 

Nisi Masa-European Short Pitch 2012!

As part of the ESP I've attended a script writing residency in the fairy-tale like city of Luxembourg and In March I will be presenting Electrifying Love at a co-production forum in Maribor, Slovenia. 

With a bit of luck and some hard work I will begin the production this spring!

I've recently came back from Tallinn where I took part in the AnimaCampus as part of the Animated Dreams Festival. AnimaCampus is a platform for animation creatives to attend workshops, masterclasses and also network. It was really interesting and watched some very inspiring films.

Bird Portraits

I have recently started a new theme of illustrations, this time its portraits of birds. I usually find a picture/photo of a bird that I like and then use it as a starting point to sketch the rough shape.

Materials used-Watercolours, Ink and AquaMonolith.

I have recently rediscover the AquaMonolith pencils, they give such a great vibrant colours when mixed with water and they are great for details.

Very happy and proud to announce that "LAIKA"

 is screening at the Comic-Con International San Diego, California!

The home of the largest comic book and popular arts convention in the world.

"LAIKA" is shown as part of Spike & Mike screenings!

More Earrings

A couple of weeks ago I started making earrings again, here are some of them.

FOXES

I bought the mould from The clay shop on Etsy.

They are made from Fimo modelling clay, coloured with acrylic paint and varnished. 

RUSSIAN HORSES

Made from Fimo and coloured with acrylic paint.

BEAGLE

These were made as a present for my mum's birthday, the prototype was our 12 year old beagle.

They are also made of Fimo clay and coloured with acrylic paints. 

"What are you reading?" Bookmark

This tiny bookmark was first drawn on paper and then coloured in Illustrator.

 It folds on top of the pages and has space to write a list of favourite books. 

I am in the process of creating more of these with other characters and might even try to 

sell some on Etsy if they become popular.
